John Dunn, City Manager of Seaside, retired on December 30, 2015. Dunn’s over-43-year career in city government includes 29 years as City Manager of Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Seaside, as well as time spent in an Interim City Manager role for Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, Rohnert Park and Seaside. In 2010, Dunn was even named “Citizen of the Year” by the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce for his service to community organizations.
“It has been a long and wonderful ride, working with City Councils, my fellow City employees, and community members to serve our citizens and improve our communities,” said Dunn. “I have the highest respect for my fellow professionals who have devoted their working lives to community service. In departing, I extend my best wishes for continued effective leadership in the Cities of California.”
