CCMF is excited to announce the appointment of Kenneth Pulskamp as its next Executive Director.

Ken PulskampPulskamp has over 35 years of experience in local government administration. He worked as City Manager in Santa Clarita for 10 years. He was awarded the “City Manager Award for the Advancement of Diverse Communities” from the League of California Cities in 2007, the CCMF Distinguished California City Manager Award in 2010, and in 2011 he won the inaugural Wes McClure award from the League, honoring a city manager for leadership, transparency and creativity.

“It was a great honor to be asked to take on the role of Executive Director for CCMF,” said Pulskamp. “The values held by CCMF, namely leadership, transparency, and creativity, are qualities I hold dear, both professionally and personally.”

Pulskamp was voted in as Executive Director at the January 10, 2014 CCMF board meeting after Rita Geldert announced her intention to step down from the position citing health concerns. “Rita has been a critical part of the organization’s success since she first joined the board in 2000 and our profession as a whole owes her a debt of gratitude,” said Wade McKinney, President of CCMF. “Hers were not easy shoes to fill, and we feel very fortunate that Ken Pulskamp is up for the challenge.”

“This past year has been a highlight of my career,” said outgoing Executive Director Geldert. “I know Ken will bring his thoughtful voice and patient personality to the position, and keep CCMF growing along with the profession. His dedication to public service makes him an excellent choice to keep CCMF moving forward.”

Pulskamp officially stepped into the position as of February 1. You can watch a recent interview with him by clicking here.
