Professional Standards

The International City/County Management Association

As a leader in the development of city management standards, the California City Management Foundation supports the International City/County Management Association’s (ICCA) Voluntary Credentialing Program.

Through this program, members are certified by their peers in a credentialing process designed to recognize a combination of education and experience. Once certified, members are encouraged to continue their personal and professional growth through the many development programs offered by the association .

Further Commitments to Excellence

The ICCA maintains a Code of Ethics and a Committee on Professional Conduct to foster public confidence, fair elections, responsible information sharing, and equal opportunities for all. To help develop these industry guidelines, members of the CCMF board of trustees also hold seats on the board of the ICCA where they play an integral role in establishing and maintaining city management standards.
