Reina SchwartzThe City of San Pablo has extended an official offer of employment as the City’s new Assistant City Manager to Ms. Reina J. Schwartz, current General Services Director with the City of Sacramento, CA.

“After an extensive and exhaustive search, I am pleased to announce Ms. Schwartz as this City’s new Assistant City Manager,” stated San Pablo City Manager Matt Rodriguez. “A complete background check confirmed that Ms. Schwartz is an accomplished municipal professional with an impressive background, over 27 years of state and local governmental experience, and noteworthy credentials. She brings with her to San Pablo an incredible professional reputation of budget planning, policy and strategic planning, and extensive experience in citywide general municipal operations. She will bring a valuable dimension to the City’s Executive Management Team and City organization.”

Schwartz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Conservation and Resource Studies and graduated magna cum laude from U.C. Berkeley in Berkeley, California in 1985. Additionally, she earned a Masters Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1988. Since 1991, she has held numerous executive and managerial positions within the City of Sacramento. Ms. Schwartz previously held the position of Fiscal and Policy Analyst with the State of California Legislative Analyst’s Office from 1988-1991. Ms. Schwartz is also a Credentialed Manager through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

Schwartz’s official start date with the City is Monday, May 4, 2015.
