The Wes McClure Scholarship is offered annually to prospective graduate students attending a public or private university or college in California, who best portray their interest in pursuing jobs in the local government. The $1,500 award, given to two students each year, helps to cover direct educational expenses, such as tuition or books. Students need not be committed to a specific area of academic study to qualify.
Applications for the scholarship are due by August 2, 2013 and must include a cover letter, a 750 word essay, and two letters of reference.
