LOCC CM Department Meeting 2018Members of the California City Management Foundation (CCMF) will be hosting a session entitled “How to Leverage Your Assistants for City Management Excellence” during the League of California Cities (LOCC) City Managers Department Meeting in Newport Beach. The session will take place on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 8:45 – 10:00am. The panel will include Karen Pinkos (Assistant City Manager of El Cerrito), John Gillison (City Manager of Rancho Cucamonga), and Elesa Cox (Deputy City Manager of Rancho Cucamonga). CCMF President Wade McKinney will moderate the discussion.

Behind every great city manager is a great team. Assistant city managers, deputy city managers, and assistants to city managers wear multiple hats and play crucial roles in public agencies. During the session, attendees will discover how seasoned city managers get the most out of their assistants and understand the various ways to empower “number twos” to eventually take the helm as “number ones.”

The City Managers Department Meeting is an opportunity for city managers, assistant managers, and county chief administrative officers to network and keep current on a wide range of issues relevant to the profession. This is the largest gathering of managers that LOCC facilitates.
