For over 35 years, CCMF’s mission has been to promote and encourage excellence in city management in all of California’s 480+ incorporated cities and towns. Grounded by this principle, the CCMF Board of Trustees has developed a Strategic Plan to guide exciting new offerings.

CCMF’s 2021-23 Strategic Plan is focused on providing more opportunities for the city management community to stay in touch; expanding research and data surrounding the profession; and streamlining the membership management system. These overarching goals feed into four programs and initiatives:

  1. Advancing the Profession Through Meaningful Data: CCMF will produce an annual report tracking the length of city manager tenures in the state.
  2. Creating More Connections: To strengthen our extensive peer network and lay the groundwork for more regional events, CCMF will develop and maintain a “pin drop” map showing where CCMF members are located.
  3. Celebrating City Managers: Highlighting the many faces, stories and lessons learned of city managers across the state is a continuing priority for CCMF. CCMF will expand the Profiles in Management series in 2021-23 to help give city managers the recognition they deserve.
  4. Upgrading Membership Management: CCMF is pursuing an “auto-renewal” membership option so you never have to worry whether your membership has expired. This may be part of a member management system upgrade with many new exciting features, so stay tuned.

The CCMF Board is continually invested in expanding opportunities for the city management profession as a whole, not just for our members. We look forward to growing our community even more over the next few years. Stay tuned to CCMF’s website, social media and emails for more information.
