The next City Manager will have the unique and exciting opportunity to continue working on a number of important issues that are currently facing the City, which include efforts to finance a new police facility, acquire a private water system, develop a Village South specific plan, manage the extension of the Gold Line, monitor MS4 permit compliance, implement the Foothill Boulevard Master Plan, foster community partnerships and strengthen relationships with the prestigious Claremont Colleges and Claremont School District. Additionally, the City is preparing its 2018-20 budget and entering employee contract negotiations.

The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with a straightforward and direct communication style who will feel comfortable and be highly visible in an engaged and involved community. The City Manager will be a team-oriented professional with the vision and organizational experience to coordinate multiple departmental and citywide functions and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Community involvement and input is a vital step in the planning process for new and enhanced programs, projects, and services.
