APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!
Apply by January 16, 2026

CCMF is proud to introduce the first-ever Mid-Career Workshop, a unique professional development experience designed specifically for city managers navigating the pivotal middle stage of their careers. This immersive three-day program will provide a supportive space for candid conversations, reflection and shared wisdom among peers.

Through interactive discussions, guided sessions and shared meals, participants will explore critical themes such as:

  • Professional Identity and Purpose: Reconnecting with the reasons for choosing city management and rediscovering the meaning and rewards of the profession.
  • Leadership Legacy: Understanding how to leave a positive mark on your organization while supporting the next generation of leaders.
  • Work-Life Integration: Balancing professional responsibilities with personal fulfillment, motivation and resilience.
  • Career Transitions: Identifying when and how to plan for retirement or new professional chapters, while navigating evolving workplace dynamics with staff and elected officials.

The seminar will also foster personal connections through group meals, including a special dinner in Laguna Beach.

By the close of the workshop, participants will leave with renewed clarity, practical strategies for thriving in the demanding role of city manager and a strengthened sense of community within the profession.
