On the evening of February 6, 2014, CCMF hosted its annual member appreciation dinner as part of the LCC City Manager’s meeting. The event took place aboard the Majestic, and despite heavy rain, a great time was had by all.

As the boat cruised the Long Beach coastline, President Wade McKinney presented three awards for outstanding service to the city management profession.

The first went to Steve Gedestad of CCMF Corporate Sponsor Keenan. Steve has been a tremendous resource to our membership and recently wrote up an article on preparing for health care reform. We value his contributions to the Foundation greatly.

The second award went to Jeff Kolin of Beverly Hills. Jeff is a board member of CCMF, and can always be counted on to go above and beyond to make things happen for the Foundation and its members.

Traditionally, CCMF only gives out two awards, but this year the board felt it appropriate to add one to the list. A third award for outstanding service to the city management profession was given to Rita Geldert. Rita recently resigned her position as Executive Director of CCMF due to health concerns. We are so very thankful for all of her work over the years and give her this award along with our humble thanks and best wishes.
