The New and Future City Managers (NFCM) Seminar is a longstanding annual workshop hosted by the California City Management Foundation, aimed at assisting aspiring city managers and those already in the role. In this intensive, multi-day workshop, senior city managers share a wide range of keen insights and legendary stories that help guide and inform participants’ career choices.

The Seminar offers a unique chance for new and upcoming city managers to exchange ideas and receive guidance from seasoned professionals. The group is limited to 25 participants who spend nearly all of their time together in close discussions, eating meals together and staying at the same hotel. Attendees can expect group discussions led by long-tenured city managers who act as facilitators.

The 2023 New and Future City Managers Seminar is scheduled for November 8 to 10 at the Westin Pasadena hotel. There is a $550 cost for members ($700 for non-members) that covers all meals, lodging and Seminar materials. The deadline to apply is Friday, August 11 at 5 PM.

You do not have to be a CCMF member to apply! For more information about how to apply, please visit the New & Future City Managers page on this website.
