The Cal-ICMA Senior Manager/Encore Manager is hosting a round-table discussion on encore opportunities during the 2019 League of California Cities City Managers Department conference. The dialogue will assist those thinking about their next life phase as well as managers who have already made the transition.

The round-table discussion will be held at the conclusion of the City Managers Department conference on Friday, February 15, at 12 noon at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Diego. All local government managers are invited (as well as their spouses or partners). The conversation will address the variety of encore opportunities available to managers (e.g., consulting, interim management, teaching, non-profit work, volunteering), key concerns and challenges, and available resources to assist those making the transition.

Those participating in the round-table discussion do not have to be registered for the conference. The partners of Managers are encouraged to attend. There is no charge for the session.

At the Roundtable, Cal-ICMA will release a new resource paper entitled “Navigating the Retirement Journey—Insights and Tips from Partners.”
