The California City Management Foundation is proud to announce our support for the “Strong Cities, Strong State” education effort.

California has many great features: a great environment, beautiful weather and smart residents. These features benefit from strong local governance that is responsive to the people and responsible to the future. City governments, throughout the State of California, work every day to improve the lives of Californians and make our communities better places to work, play and retire.

CCMF believes that effect elected local leaders, supported by competent expert managers and staff, make life better for all Californians, and the “Strong Cities, Strong State” message is designed to highlight those benefits and remind us all why local government matters. Through a website and other Internet communication channels, the “Strong Cities, Strong State” campaign will reach Californian across the Golden State and give them an opportunity to talk about what their city means to their day-to-day life.

wademckinneyweb“As president of CCMF, I understand the important part that city managers can play in making life better in California. Our city manager members appreciate the efforts of councilmembers and staff to make our cities stronger; making life better for Californians,” said Wade McKinney, president of CCMF and city manager in Atascadero, CA. “It is good for all residents to pause and recognize the positive contributions cities make to their daily lives, and the ‘Strong Cities, Strong State’ education effort will provide an outlet for citizens to express themselves.”

The “Strong Cities, Strong State” will launch in July with a website, and friends and members of CCMF are encouraged to engage with the educational effort and participate in the programming.
