The California City Management Foundation (CCMF) is pleased to announce that all Executive Education Grants for the 2024-25 program year have been awarded. Each year, CCMF offers up to two $10,000 scholarships to active CCMF members who are seeking to participate in educational programs. CCMF Corporate Benefactor Sponsor HdL Companies also offers an additional scholarship for $8,000 for the Local Governance Summer Institute (LGSI) at Stanford University.
“To see the remarkable impact these grants have on local government professionals is incredibly rewarding,” said CCMF Executive Director Ken Pulskamp. “The opportunity to enhance leadership skills through top-tier programs like Harvard and LGSI ultimately strengthens the communities we serve.”
CCMF awarded its Executive Education Grants to Santa Clarita Assistant to the City Manager Michael Villegas and Burbank Assistant City Manager Courtney Padgett.
Courtney Padgett used her grant for LGSI’s 2024 July program and Michael Villegas used his grant to attend the 2024 Harvard Leadership Decision Making program in June 2024. “The Executive Education Grant was a tremendous help and afforded me the opportunity to attend Harvard Kennedy School’s Leadership Decision Making cohort in June 2024. The program at Harvard provided insight on decision science, which aims to eliminate bias to enhance the probability of successful outcomes (decisions).”
HdL Companies awarded its scholarship to Pleasanton Management Analyst Sharon Petrehn for her attendance in LGSI’s 2025 July program.
With all three scholarships awarded, the application period for the 2024-25 program year is now closed. CCMF will reopen the application period at the start of the new program year: July 1, 2025. Join us in congratulating this year’s recipients!
