The California City Management Foundation (CCMF) will be hosting two panel discussions this fall, one at the 2025 League of California Cities Annual Conference in Long Beach and another at the 2025 ICMA Annual Conference in Tampa, Florida.
At the League of California Cities Annual Conference, CCMF will present “Overcoming Organizational Challenges: Reframing Career Challenges as Leadership Milestones” on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. This session will focus on how city leaders can transform unexpected obstacles into opportunities for growth, with insights on building resilience and reframing difficulties as valuable learning experiences. The discussion will be moderated by CCMF Board Member and El Cerrito City Manager Karen Pinkos and will feature panelists:
- Patrick Martinez, City Manager, City of Needles
- Alexa Davis, Assistant City Manager, City of Rollings Hills Estates
- Bret Prebula, City Manager, City of Suisun City
Later in the month, CCMF will host “Mental Health and Well-Being in Turbulent Times: Tips and Best Practices for Facing Work Challenges & Personal Crises” at the ICMA Annual Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. This session will highlight strategies for supporting mental health in the workplace and beyond, with CCMF Board Director Ken Pulskamp and licensed psychotherapist Beverly Foo-Colon, LCSW, leading the discussion.
CCMF is also proud to sponsor the Annual Conference Reception at ICMA, taking place on Monday, Oct. 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Jackson’s Bistro. The event, co-hosted with the Cal Cities City Manager’s Department, Cal-ICMA, MMANC and MMASC, will bring local government professionals together for an evening of networking and celebration. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by Oct. 10.
Don’t miss out on these insightful discussions, designed to inspire and inform attendees. Each session will include a dedicated Q&A segment, allowing attendees to engage directly with the presenters, ask questions and gain deeper insights into the topics covered. CCMF hopes to see you there!
