The California City Management Foundation is proud to host two engaging panel discussions this fall. This fall, CCMF will present at the League of California Cities (LOCC) Annual Conference in Anaheim, followed by the MMANC Annual Conference near Yosemite National Park.
At the LOCC Annual Conference, taking place Sept. 23-25 at the Anaheim Convention Center, CCMF will present “Governing in the Fishbowl: Leadership Under Social Media, Public Records and 24/7 Scrutiny.” In today’s digital landscape, councils and city managers operate under constant public scrutiny, with social media, records requests and community reactions unfolding in real time. Panelists will share practical strategies for navigating online narratives, high-pressure communications and heightened accountability while maintaining transparency, trust and organizational stability. The discussion will feature:

A few days later, CCMF panelists will head to Tenaya Lodge near Yosemite National Park for the MMANC Annual Conference, held Sept. 27-30. CCMF will host “Behind the Desk: The Real Life of a City Manager.” From early morning briefings to late-night council meetings, no two days are the same for a city manager. This candid panel pulls back the curtain on the executive role, highlighting the pressures, pivots and purpose that define local government leadership. The discussion will feature:
