CCMF Panel Title at MMASC ConferenceThe California City Management Foundation (CCMF) looks forward to hosting a panel discussion at the 2022 Municipal Management Association of Southern California (MMASC) Annual Conference in Rancho Mirage, CA. The session is called, “Vulnerable Leadership: Not an Oxymoron,” and it will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 10:30-11:45 a.m.

Panelists will include:

  • Aaron Adams, CCMF Board Member and City Manager of Temecula
  • Jacob Ellis, City Manager of Corona
  • Armando Villa, City Manager of Menifee

In today’s local government world, it takes courage to be honest about what troubles you face, where you need help, and to admit where failures have occurred. Some city leaders may be tempted to cover up mistakes to avoid confrontation with the public, rather than asking for help and addressing community issues head-on. In this session, panelists will share why it is important to be transparent and vocal in these instances. Drawing on real examples they’ve encountered, panelists will discuss past and present challenges in their cities and explain how practicing vulnerable leadership helped resolve those issues.

CCMF encourages members to attend this panel discussion during the MMASC Annual Conference. Beyond gaining valuable insights, attendees will have opportunities to ask questions and engage with panelists directly following the presentation. To attend, please register for the MMASC Annual Conference. We look forward to seeing you there!
