CCMFOn January 31, CCMF hosted its annual Member Appreciation Dinner at the City Club in San Francisco. As part of the event, the organization took some time to recognize a number of individuals for their contribution to the city management profession.

The first award went to a city manager who has provided outstanding service to the city management profession. This year the award went to Assistant City Manager Jim Lewis of Atascadero. “It’s always rewarding to work with the city council,” said Lewis, “and help (them) obtain their dreams for the city.” You can learn more about Jim Lewis on the CCMF YouTube channel.

The second award this year went to Tripepi Smith & Associates, a business partner who has shown outstanding service to the city management profession and to local government in general. Tripepi Smith has been a supporter of the organization for years, managing the overhaul of the organization’s website, drafting internal white papers, and coordinating outreach to members through regular newsletters and social media. 2012 was a particularly exciting year for our collaboration, as it marked the launch of the “Meet Your City Manager” video series.

At the dinner the following individuals were also recognized:

For 25 years of service on the CCMF Board:  Mark Curran
Outgoing Executive Director:  Bill Garrett
For service as Asst City Manager on the Board: Ken Striplin

“This year’s award recipients were chosen because they truly stand out as hard working individuals and businesses,” said Wade McKinney, President of CCMF. “City management is a profession based in community, and we feel it is important to recognize those members of our community that strive to bring their best to everything they do.”
