The California City Management Foundation is a long-time sponsor of the annual Local Governance Summer Institute (LSGI) seminar at Stanford University. The 2023 Seminar will be held from July 23-28 on Stanford University’s campus.

Registration is now open for the 2023 program. Online applications are reviewed monthly on a rolling basis until the program reaches capacity. Please visit the LGSI informational page on the Stanford website for program details.

This year, CCMF sponsor HdL Companies is offering a $7000 scholarship for a CCMF member to attend LSGI. The scholarship will cover tuition and material, all breakfasts and lunches, and two to three dinners, depending on the final schedule. It will not cover the recipient’s travel expenses or lodging. However, Stanford will provide a hotel room discount for LSGI participants who choose to stay at the selected hotel in Palo Alto. More information about accommodations will be provided this Spring. If you are interested in applying for HdL’s CCMF scholarship, please send a copy of your completed LSGI application along with a cover letter addressed to CCMF Executive Director Ken Pulskamp at ken@cacitymanagers.org.

The 2023 LSGI program will feature presentations from a variety of Stanford faculty, leading practitioners in California local government and innovative leaders from the high-tech community in Silicon Valley. LGSI at Stanford offers city managers and other senior local government officials an opportunity to discuss and debate today’s most pressing public management issues with industry colleagues and leaders. Don’t miss out on this year’s event, which is sure to provoke insightful conversations about practical solutions for communities across the state. If the timing works for you, this is a great professional development opportunity for CCMF members.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact Blas Pérez Henríquez at blph@stanford.edu or lgsi-stanford@stanford.edu. You can also learn more on CCMF’s website.
