Carneros Ballroom, Salon FGH

Four members of the CCMF community will deliver a panel entitled “#13Percent Update: the Rise of Women in City Management” at the League of California Cities City Managers Conference in Napa on February 5, 2020 from 3:30 – 4:45pm.

CCMF LoCC Panel Title SlideCCMF Board of Trustees member and El Cerrito City Manager Karen Pinkos will moderate the panel on the first day of the conference. Bill Avery of CCMF Corporate Member William Avery & Associates will join two CCMF members, Concord City Manager Valerie Barone and Rancho Cucamonga Deputy City Manager Lori Sassoon, as panelists.

The session will discuss the growth of female leadership in local government. In 2013, a study by ICMA found that women only held 13 percent of local chief administrative officer (CAO) positions. CCMF has tracked the rise of women in California city management and has provided members with tips to ensure more gender diversity in their cities. This presentation touches upon findings from CCMF’s 2019 research into the state of women in California city leadership, drawing on the expertise of current female leaders and an executive recruitment specialist.

CCMF encourages all members to attend this panel and to stop by our table to connect and pick up your CCMF stress ball and luggage tag. We are looking forward to seeing members that previously RSVP’d at the CCMF Annual Member Dinner on Thursday evening and the Golf Tournament on Friday.

See you soon in Napa!
